On a multilingual site, the description field of a menu item is not being translated. The description appears when hovering over the menu link.
- Enable "Custom menu link" in the Content language config page (/admin/config/regional/content-language)
- Make sure "Description" field is selected under the "Translatable" column
- Edit your menu and add a translation to the "Description" field of a menu item
- Use the language switcher to view the menu item in another language and it will not appear translated
