Hello everyone I am using 2.1@alpha and have the same problem as OP.
I enabled the rotate option for the field and yet there is no such icon showing up on edit forms.
I have installed and enabled this module. I have a node with multiple images. I enabled on that field the enable simple rotation checkbox but I do not see the clockwise icon.
What am I missing?
