This is now implemented such that we take the random string generated by the bpmn library without the element type prefix, which gets replaced by the plugin ID where colons are replaced by double-underscores. Also, those IDs are no longer editable in the Form API property panel.
Automatically closed - issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
