I don't see anything stopping someone from calling
warmMultiplemanually. Or do you mean in the UI. I the only way I have seen to trigger a warming operation is with the Queue UI module.
The README says that a warmer plugin includes:
> A method to trigger the warming operation. Ex: entity load, an external HTTP request
but I can't see this in the code. It looks like warmers are only triggered by a queue that's filled by cron.
