Add keyLocation for IndexNow

Created on 30 March 2022, over 2 years ago
Updated 20 May 2024, 4 months ago

If the Drupal root is not on the root of the domain (e.g. https://example.com/foo/), then the key can not be verified because it is expected to exist on the root of the domain. The IndexNow documentation states that an alternate key location can be specified by adding keyLocation when submitting to IndexNow.

Perhaps an option to include keyLocation should be added to accommodate such Drupal sites?

    I ran into something similar.

I don't have my site on anything but the root of the domain, but I was getting the error of:

resulted in a `403 Forbidden` response: The key couldn't be loaded or it doesn't match the URLs specified in the request.

Until I put the key in a file as stated in comment #2. I am using a CDN, so perhaps the reverse-proxy is interfering?
