Open Files In Colorbox

First off, thanks for the module.

Problem/Motivation

When a Directory Item "ex.jpg" is clicked to view/open, is there a way to open the file in colorbox.
I don't want the entire directory to load in colorbox, just the end file that is clicked to view.

Steps to reproduce

Download, enable and configure as normal. Create a node->type Directory Listing
View your new listing. Click an image file. I'd like to open them in Colorbox.

Proposed resolution

I've played around with adding "data-colorbox-inline" to filebrowser-grid-item.html.twig with targets and I get some funky results.
Colorbox is getting called. I just want the file to load in colorbox when clicked.

Any guidance is appreciated.
