fopen() error when loading csv files

Problem/Motivation

The Content Import module returns the following warning message when uploading a csv file:

Message Warning: fopen(): Filename cannot be empty in create_node() (line 199 of /modules/contentimport/contentimport.module)

A file has been specified on the content import form, but gets cleared when the message displays. As a result, the file is not processed. Reinstalling the module did not resolve the issue.

Steps to reproduce

Under Configuration->Content Authoring ->Content Import, specify a content type, browse for a csv file (in the correct format with headings as the first row), select file and click import. Error message returns after a few second.

Environment is: Drupal 9.3.3, PHP 7.4.3, Content Import 8.x-9.3
