This has to be one of the most frustrating modules to work with. I am sure that it works but almost impossible to set up. I have gone through the documentation but doesn't seem to be much in the way of hints as to how to set things up. I am guessing the expected approach is, on your local, change settings.php to activate a non-local environment and then make changes there (disable modules i don't want for this activated config), export and push to repo. But, if a module is not enabled it doesn't show as an option to be completely split. I also, regularly end up losing my entire config for environments.
Unclear as to how a disabled module (for example in Test enviro) becomes disabled. Is this a core.extensions file then in the config/test folder or is it in the sync/split file for that enviro.
The only thing that seems to work reliably is to manually edit config files and place them in specific config folders (except for disabling modules).
Wouldnt a UI that lists which modules/config are enabled for each environment be mush easier to understand?
