I used in version 1.3, personalized blocks that I had integrated into my Mega menu. I was also using Item captions like this " New ".
since version 1.4, the custom blocks have disappeared and my caption items look like this: "<span class="item-new">Nouveau</span>" the html code is deleted.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
The #2 solution is working for me. But, it will great helpful if custom blocks are available by default on the block section in the menu configuration page.
