The changes made to a fields input is not saved when you click the node save button directly after making the change.
- Add a textfield to your node
- Make it unique and enable Ajax
- Create a new node
- Add a value to the new (unique) field
- Now DON'T click next to the field or inside a other field. DO click directly on the Save button to save the node.
When doing this you see the Ajax verification is first triggered before saving the node. When done the node is saved but changes made to the unique field are not saved.
Disabling the Ajax functionality solves the problem.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
When I started typing in the input element, I closed the submit button. I triggered ajax 1.5 seconds after the writing process in the input was completed. When Ajax finished, I opened the submit button.
