The module doesn't handle instances of image fields with only a single image well.
It would be nice to have the option to suppress the thumbnails section if there is only one image present in the field.
Configure a field to show the gallery for a field.
Create a node with a single image in that field.
Provide an option to suppress the thumbnails when there is only one image present.
