Closing this considering the little interest with the feature (not a single comment since the issue was opened).
The invoice gets saved at least twice during InvoiceGenerator::doGenerate(). It would be great to have a post-generate event rather than trying to react to post-update and trying to figure out if the invoice has just been generated (and if it has finished being generated).
