Allow Selection of Display Mode for Menu Items

Allowing a display mode for the menu items to be rendered in on the admin page (per menu) would allow for easier theming.

I'm going to close this as "Outdated" because the maintainers have been waiting for more information for ~2 years. (I'm trying to clean up old issues, thank you in advance for your understanding and patience with me!)
