I think there should be a way to set the default payment method that's selected at the checkout stage.
There is a way to order payment methods in the configuration page. But it doesn't seem to impact anything.
So, currently, regardless of the order, PayPal Payment Method always ends up being the default one.
That is a very pro-PayPal biased behavior I might add.
I hope there could be a way to choose in the future, which payment gateway should be used as the default one. (out of the box, without additional coding).
So that we could set Stripe, Klarna or Alipay as default ones instead of relying so much on PayPal.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
Currently the sorting behaviour seems different. PayPal is still always the first but the other payment methods are sorted by their weights defined in admin/commerce/config/payment-gateways and not by their ID.
Is there a hook in PayPal module that always renders it as the first/default payment method? How can I change the default payment method?
