These issues were resolved and the module has been in active use on Drupal 9 sites!
Automatically closed - issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
While we can use a patch for D9 compatibility, the composer.json file is missing the "require" entry that sets that version.
Without it, upgrading to Drupal 9 is blocked.
Option 1: create a D9 release
Option 2: in the meantime, an issue fork should work
