This should be a non-issue if ever we implement #3034070: Store entity instance settings as fields on entity → . Postponing until then.
When we have many entities that need to be not with the entity type default value, we need to edit one by one each entity.
- Configure the default value for a content type or a taxonomy vocabulary
- Go to a view with VBO to edit in bulk
- Nothing about sitemap in the edition page
