After update from 7.x-1.2 to 7.x-1.3 all markup fields does not show the content of text.
Som of mine markup fields contain php code and the php code does not call the underlying functions.
Drupal 7.78
PHP 7.4.13
I downloaded and downgraded to version 7.x-1.2 and all is fine again.
The new feature in 7.x-1.3 didn't appear.
Perhaps you should leave the new feature and only check the code to PHP 7.4+
