Redirect all Drupal links and server files

Thank you very much for creating this helpful module! It works great for some Drupal links (nodes, views, admin/, etc).

Problem/Motivation

Unfortunately, it does not redirect Drupal generated image urls (e.g. /sites/default/files/styles/{image_style}/public/images/filename.jpg?itok=3dMoG5I1) or generic files on the server, e.g. http://your-domain.tld/robots.txt.

Steps to reproduce

1. Select these settings:

  • Enable redirects.
  • URL prefix redirect: With WWW prefix.
  • HTTP Secure (HTTPS) redirect: Enable HTTPS and redirect all HTTP traffic (force HTTPS).

2. Visit http://your-domain.tld/robots.txt.
The file won't redirect neither to https nor to www. The same applies for Drupal generated images.

Proposed resolution

Evaluate if it's possible to redirect all Drupal generated links as well as server links/files.

If that's not possible, do you have a suggestion on how to take care of the other links without causing conflicts with this module, redirect loops or other potential problems?

I have kept this issue open to provide insight to those who might be interested, but there isn't really much to do in terms of fixes which is why I now close this one as "won't fix".

For a "no-code" solution the current recommendation is:
