Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined

Problem/Motivation

After adding the script in the admin page and clearing the cache, I get the following error:
Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined

In my theme I have these dependencies: core/drupal and core/jquery and jQuery is working in the page.

Steps to reproduce

- Get the script code
- Remove comments at the beginning and the end
- Save and clear cache
- Go to homepage

Proposed resolution

Not sure what the solution would be, but I think the script is running before jQuery.

As Drupal 8 is long dead this issue can be closed.
Just to be safe I tested this in Drupal 9 and Drupal 10 and could not reproduce the issue.
