I am one such individual. For example, let's say I want to have the panel title by "Year" but it's grouped, so that articles which were published on that year show up in a list inside the panel.
The group by option is not available for accordion settings in 8.x-4.x as it is for 8.x-3.x (via patch). I went ahead and took that patch and modified it to work with 8.x-4.x for the sake of completeness. I'll generate a patch to attach to this post once I have the id number to use.
