I'm trying to embed a Scribd document, but I'm getting the following error:
The given URL does not match any known oEmbed providers.
I've tried the URL copied directly out of Scribd's "Share -> Copy link" option, and I've tried the src URL in the old site's iFrame embed, with no luck. I *suspect* the problem is that the document is private. The original embed uses a parameter that Scribd accepts and delivers the content:
https://www.scribd.com/document/123456789/document-title-here?secret_pas...
Is it possible that Media is stripping that query string off the URL and getting blocked when it tries to access the document?

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
I ran across this issue and got the same result for public files. I believe the only fix is for an issue to be created here: https://github.com/iamcal/oembed
From Scribd support:
Unfortunately, Scribd's API service, which includes oEmbed functionality, has been discontinued. As a result, the information on the oEmbed provider list will not be updated.
