Local development using ngrok and alternate source host

While developing locally I use ngrok so that I can test content hub between multiple sites. Its working well so far, with the exception of when a subscriber site needs to get a file from a publisher site.

When exporting published content to the hub, ultimately the source of each published object is the actual local domain rather than the ngrok domain. This makes perfect sense. However, it is not ideal for when a subscriber needs to get a file from the publisher because it attempts to use the local domain that ships with the object (which won't work in my case because reasons).

What is your recommended approach here? Is it possible to alter the source domain of an object prior to it getting pushed to content hub?
