Problem/Motivation

I went to create a new module project today, and discovered our "Module categories" taxonomy is woefully out of date. In particular, there's a "CCK" category, which hasn't been relevant since D6. ;) Here's the current list:

- None -

Proposed resolution

Refresh this list. Merge stuff that can be merged. Prune things that should be pruned. Consider adding new things if needed.

Some initial proposals:

A) Rename "Content Construction Kit (CCK)"
B) Merge "Commerce/Advertising" + "E-Commerce"
C) Remove "Drush" ?
D) Reconsider "RDF"
...

Remaining tasks

  1. Identify the appropriate stake-holders to make this decision.
  2. Get buy-in on the desire to change this.
  3. More carefully assess the current situation.
  4. Flesh out proposals for modernization.
  5. Actually make the changes:
    • - Term updates / additions /removals.
    • - (Hopefully automated) re-assignment of effected projets.

User interface changes

TBD.

API changes

None.

Data model changes

Sort of. ;)
