Labels print for empty fields in Display

I have a database set up with multiple taxonomy term reference fields, and am using this module to output the field data as taxonomy trees. Works beautifully for fields that have data.

However, for fields that don't have data -- it's still printing the labels.

I'm using the current versions of D8, Display Suite and this module. Everything is up to date. I saw there had been a similar issue for the D7x branch, but can't find a resolution for D8.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
