I have CloudFlare 8.x-1.0-beta1, and "Restore Client Ip Address" settings
In watchdog events that occurred after the initialization (Drupal & module) of the object are placed with the original IPs (Restored).
But "access denied", "page not found", redirects (before module init) with IP of CloudFlare.
I use the module https://www.drupal.org/project/autoban → (for scan the log and block flood). But I do not see the original addresses of these events in watchdog.
