The issue is from a long time ago. Since no mapping was marked as unique, I'm going to assume that was causing the duplicates.
Deleting previously imported items only happens if the source no longer provides them.
Expiring content currently only happens when running an import manually. Expiring doesn't happen when running imports during cron or outside of imports for that matter. There is an other issue for this: 🐛 Expire functionality broken Needs work .
I'm closing this as "Works as designed" because the issue seems to be caused by a configuration error (no mapping marked as duplicate).
Feel free to reopen this issue if you still encounter this problem and you have set a mapping target as unique.
