Ideas for Drupal 9 launch promotion

We put a survey out in email to ask for input on ideas to celebrate the Drupal 9 launch. Here's what was submitted. If you have other ideas, please add comments here. Thanks for taking the time.

Here were the submissions:

• Erica Reed (ericareed):

  Drupal 9 Teaser Site -- Treat the Drupal 9 launch as a major marketing event launch vs. the traditional; ways of sharing technology news (emails, blog posts, etc). Build a microsite similar to the movie trailer & teaser sites for major movie launches, with video and graphics showing the new possibilities of Drupal 9. Generate media buzz around Drupal 9 to get fresh eyes on the CMS product capabilities.

• Tim (herrzhull):

  Launch Drupal with auto updates and a non-composer option and spread the word that Drupal is once again a powerfull, easy to deploy and maintain platform. You'll get a massive influx of people who abandoned Drupal when Composer became a thing and get those pesky Drupal7 people to finally stop eyeballing WordPress. Make Drupal maintainable again! (pretty please? ;_;)

• Roger Noguera (owenkaji):

  # 1 Well, an idea that can be worked on is to make a global event, we know that there are the drupalcon that are the strongest drupal events around the world, but a global event would not be bad where for example call it a #DrupalWorldDay before launch of Drupal 9.

  # 2 We also know the work that the Local communities of each Country do, as a member of the Drupal Nicaragua community it would not be bad to visit Dries to our country to give a talk, that would be great and clear to the Latin American communities in general.

• Heather Rocker (hrocker):

  Coordination of local association and camp leaders to help us translate Drupal 9 launch press releases for maximum global exposure; build out global media/press list

• Lilit Ghazaryan (lilit_ghazaryan):

  From my point, I am contributing Drupal modules to make them compatible with Drupal 9. For the first, we need to have all Drupal 8 modules ready for Drupal 9 and for it I am sure that all contributors including me doing their best to make it real. Than for marketing, we need to show the percentage of all modules compatible with drupal 9(hopefully 100%) which will show all drupal users that we did everything to smoothly upgrade their existing websites also we need to show active contributors and say them thank you that they made successful launch drupal 9.

  I think that it's very important to stress that we are not adding anything new.

• Carola Zentara (CarolaZ):

  It's a pity that Drupal has such a niche existence in Instagram.
  So many great web developers are active in Instagram and I am convinced that we could tell really exciting stories here.

  What do you think about a social take-over campaign for the launch of Drupal 9? For one day a programmer, DrupalCon producer, web developer, marketer or Drupal-fixed company gets the chance to give a look behind the scenes.

  Finally a hashtag is introduced, which invites to network in Instagram.
  As the icing on the cake, you can put it all into a competition and ask the community to vote for the coolest tips and most exciting contributions.

  The pictures and videos gained can then be shown on a social wall at the next conference or as a video.

  Education, web applications and e-commerce is a growing sector in Africa at a racket speed. According to my research most websites are malfunction due unprofessional technology used to create the websites. D9 is the best solution to address those issue because is reliable , internationally recognized with larger community , security and its open source. Target markets Education website, Non profit organization , e-commerce , elearning platforms, cooperate and much more. The main challenge l lack the skill but Drupal is needed.
