We are trying to use Mailchimp 7.x-5.6. I installed the library using the zipped download instead of Composer. ("v1.0.10-package.zip contains the library and dependencies normally installed via Composer.")
If you install the v1.0.10 library, you get
"Your Mailchimp library is out of date. Download the latest v1 release here to make use of the "Connected sites" functionality."
v1.0.10 *IS* the latest v1 release.
I also filed a bug report on the library at Github but it probably belongs here as it is the module that is reporting the error.
Also,
If you install the v.2.0.0 library, you get
MailChimp not detected
The version of the MailChimp API library could not be detected.
