Needed for a Stable 8.x-1.0 release

This release will simply be for legacy support so as not to break backwards compatibility.

Remove submodules for a 2.0.0 release

2.0.0 will be the same base module as 8.x-1.0 but with all submodules removed. This will allow the main PDB module's maintenance and improvements to not be blocked by framework specific issues.

Hi there, thanks for your work on this module. We're evaluating this module for use in a client project and would love the additional support of the Drupal Security team for scanning modules for security.
