Due to limited developer time old feature requests for IEF are being closed. If you still have a need for this functionality, then you may feel free to reopen the issue.
When inline entity form widget is used directly in the form node, it is possible to choose the "Selection mode".
It would be nice to have this configuration option also when using the EB within IET. Currently not foreseen.
