Navbar link color behavior is erratic. Navbar icon on mobile device is missing

After installing the varbase distribution, I have come across some unusual behavior:

When Bootstrap Settings/Components/NAVBAR/Navbar link color is set to "default", the menu links are blue. On an iPhone, the icon for the dropdown of the menu items is not visible.

When Bootstrap Settings/Components/NAVBAR/Navbar link color is set to "light", the menu links are light gray. On an iPhone, the icon for the dropdown of the menu items is visible.

When Bootstrap Settings/Components/NAVBAR/Navbar link color is set to "dark", the menu link are not visible. On an iPhone, the icon for the dropdown of the menu items is not visible.
