Incorrect breadcrumbs for pages created by Views

Pages created by Views do not have breadcrumbs as expected without settings that are undesirable on the rest of the site.

I have a page created by Views at /products.

I expect its breadcrumbs to be "Home[linked] > Products[not linked]"

Instead it shows "Home[not linked]"

If, in addition to the settings selected below, I also check "Include the current page as a segment in the breadcrumb" then I get the expected result at /products, but then on all other (node) pages, the breadcrumbs end in "... > Page Title[linked] >Page Title[not linked]" which is an undesirable duplication.

Is this a bug, or is there something I'm missing? Or is there a workaround?

Using 8.x-1.8 on Drupal 8.6.15 (have also tried 1.x-dev).

Checked settings:

  • Include the front page as a segment in the breadcrumb
  • Use the real page title when available
  • Remove repeated identical segments
