Add to Calendar is no longer available

Problem/Motivation

Update: 8.x-4.x-dev supports "Add to calendar field type via Addevent.com" now

Add to Calendar (ATC) is not available anymore and I keep getting redirected to https://www.addevent.com. When checking the https://www.addtocalendar.com site, it is returning a 404 error message as such the following ATC libraries are returning 404s.

  1. Base
  2. glow_orange
  3. blue

Proposed resolution

  1. Update all libraries to use sources from https://github.com/AddToCalendar/addtocalendar-styles if we are okay with external libraries for CSS and ATC JS for the JS
  2. Download the source code into the module
  3. Update module to latest https://www.addevent.com API

Source code for JS and CSS appear to available here

  1. ATC Styles (CSS)
  2. ATC JS

Remaining tasks (depends on option)

  1. Supply patch to either download sources locally or use external libraries
  2. Supply patch to update to latest Add Event API

Consideration(s)

  1. When reviewing the addtocalendar.js that is available at ATC JS, I see that there is still a reference to atc_url = '//addtocalendar.com/atc/',. The //addtocalendar.com/atc/ returns a 404, so download locally or updating the libraries to use the GitHub repos may not be suitable.

update (4/4/2019)

The https://addtocalendar.com website is back online and the website is accessible. We should still proceed in moving to AddEvent API

https://add-to-calendar-button.com/ seems like a better, free solution?

Could we get a solid answer on when/if support for addevent.com will be added? I see the update in this issue description says "Update: 8.x-4.x-dev supports "Add to calendar field type via Addevent.com" now", but that doesn't appear to be true. Somehow 8.x-4.x is more out of date than 8.x-3.x, which I'm already using, and where no mention of "addevent" is found in the codebase.

    @maskedjellybean,
I don't think anyone is actively maintaining the 4.x branch. I became a co-maintainer of the project when it needed a D10-compatible release (see πŸ’¬ Offering to maintain Add To Calendar Button Fixed ). I cut a D10 release for 3.x and I've done a bit of additional maintenance on the 3.x branch since then. As the only active maintainer of the 3.x branch, I can give you a pretty solid answer that the 3.x branch will not integrate with addevent.com. I'd like the project page to reflect that, but I don't have the permissions to do that.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks @danflanagan8. That makes sense. I appreciate your effort! Hope you can get full control over the module somehow.
