Translation Problem with Paragraph 1.6 and Paragraphs asymmetric translation widgets 1.0-beta1

Created on 26 February 2019, over 5 years ago
Updated 6 December 2023, 7 months ago

I updated the two modules from the recent Security Announcement, and patch it with 1.5 found here => https://www.drupal.org/project/paragraphs/issues/2461695#comment-12883962 but then I found out that is was unnecessary.

But until then, When I edit English (Master) and Edit French, I have the text in both english. I don't really know if it's related to any of the updates at the moment but It worked before.

The patch #10 resolved the issue.

    Setting back to "needs work".

The concept of async behaviour is that you have different paragraphs in different languages, NOT translations.
Simply loading the translations might look like a fix, but it is not.
You would need to duplicate the paragraph with the content from the translation.

Although I do still believe that this is way out-of-scope for the widget.
Switching from sync to async or the other way around requires content to be re-generated (if it exists) This could potentially be a very heavy workload and should not be handled in the widget, but at the time if making the switch.
Also note that switching from async to sync is technically impossible to handle correctly.
Switching from sync to async should be possible.

Closing this as a duplicate of #2992777: there seems to be some good work going on there, will try and check that.
