I have a node with a PBF field with a user reference, I want to create a node view with a relationship to users referenced in that field. When I attempt to add the relationship, the field simply does not exist.
My best guess as to why this happens is there is no hook_views_data_alter(). I am not really sure where to begin with a patch on this one. Thoughts?

The change is currently missing an automated test that fails when run with the original code, and succeeds when the bug has been fixed.
