Move forum node into other forum thread

According to the documentation , 'comment_mover' is supposed to be able to move a forum node into another forum thread:

d) convert nodes to comments with preserving data from the same field instances.

So the expected behaviour is that I can "cut" a forum node and then "paste" it elsewhere. In the background, 'comment_mover' converts the node into a comment.

However, this appears not to work. If I "cut" the (source) node I want to move into another thread, I get the following error when "pasting" the (source) node into the thread below the (destination) node:

Error
The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.

No further information is given in watchdog log (./admin/reports/dblog).

The "cut" node remains listed in the sidebar block. Also 'comment_notify' sends out a new comment notification which points to a comment ID which does not exist. Since comment IDs are incremented it's easy to find out that it's attempted to create a comment, but something fails. So considering the mysterious error message I guess this is a bug.

Just thought I'd mention that I've been testing some of the D7 functionality on a test site just so I can replicate in the D9/10 port.

I have not had any problems cutting a node and pasting to a comment, so I haven't managed to reproduce this bug.

I was working on a fairly minimal D7 site, so it's very possible that something specific to the OP's setup could be interfering with the correct operation.

However, without more specific details of their setup, it's difficult to reproduce.

Marking could not reproduce. Feel free to reopen with specific steps to reproduce, though I don't plan to work on the D7 module at present.
