Blank File When Accessing Without Correct Permissions

We are currently using CSV Serialization with REST Export to export data into a CSV file. This view is setup to only allow users with certain node access / edit permissions to access this view data export path and download the file.

However, we are noticing some strange behavior that varies by browser when attempting to access this URL without the correct permissions.

Chrome: Responds as expected - says the page could not be accessed / access denied.
Safari: Encounter a blank screen (no access denied message) and a blank "export.dms" file is downloaded.
Firefox: A blank white screen appears - no message, no blank file, just nothing.

Is there a way to remove the export.dms that is downloading on Safari, as this looks highly suspect to access a page and have a blank file downloaded onto the user's computer.
