If you use Paragraphs for the text in your entities, tokens don't get replaced because the entity passed into process() method is the paragraph, not the parent entity. Patch coming to also evaluate the parent entity in the specific case of paragraphs.
The parent entity already shows up in the tokens browser when editing, so no change needed there.
