Avalara AvaTax API automatically uses the default tax code when one is not provided. Forcing the store administrator to explicitly provide the tax code on each product is an unnecessary burden.
To simplify product administration, the product edit page "Avatax code" field should be considered an override of the default code and should no longer be a required field. Add help text to the field to indicate a value in the field will override the default value P0000000. Furthermore, calls to the Avalara AvaTax API should not include the tax code unless the product specifies an override value.
