Not sure if there is any work being done on 8.x or 7.3.x releases, but would be good to know if there was anything planned to address outstanding bugs in this module.
There are a bunch of open issues and at least one RTBC issue. I'm pretty sure that @acrazyanimal isn't actively using this module any more, but not sure which of the other maintainers are still invested in this.
