xml

Hi. I want to migrate a client's site to Drupal from Joomla. I am aware of this module called Joomla to Drupal however all I want from the old site is the content and nothing else - structure and all that I don't want. I have written a xml grabbing module before and wanted to use it for this because i really have complete control over the nodes it creates. I realise this may be the wrong place to ask but does anyone know a way to export Joomla articles to XML? The Joomla site is no real help, so hoping someone here has done something similar.
