It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
Is the patch still needed? It looks like the patched code does not exist anymore.
I can still reproduce with 3.2.2. Here is an updated patch.
And here is a patch for group 2.x in case anyone needs it.
