It can still happen if you create the same CSV source name twice on the mapping page, but I think it is not worth to try to fix that "bug". You can work around it by saving mappings in between. So closing this one.
When I enter a New Source for CSV import mapping it always returns a "Machine-readable name" error and won't continue no matter what is entered for a machine name, even though the machine name entry is valid. If I remove the attempt and try a 2nd time the "new source entry" that was rejected is now listed in the source list, so a New Source is not needed and the new source is created. Maybe a bug.
