Draggable Views Demo is not intuitive

On a clean Drupal 8.5.4 test site, I installed the Draggable Views Demo module and generated some 50 test nodes. The views are available but dragging does not have the expected effect. Demo's should work intuitively to be effective.

The order page looks like this:

After saving, the page looks identical, but different nodes are listed, all with weight 0.

The problem seems to be related to the pager. After dragging rows in the view and saving it, the list shows only nodes with weight 0 again. Only when I continued to the last page, I found the nodes I had expected to see on the first page. They had weights 0 to 9 which explains why they were moved to the last page.

I don't know what the proper solution is (is DV expected to work with paged views at all?) but at the moment it does not do a good job at demoing the module's possibilities.
