Composer install fails

First of all, thanks for developing this module, to resolve a Drupal annoyance that has been around forever.

I get an error when trying to install Empty Front Page with composer:

  error: cannot spawn sh: No such file or directory
  fatal: unable to fork
  fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

Some additional remarks:

• I have tried with version number and single quotes as per the release instructions and all combinations in between.
• Since I have installed many other modules in this environment, I think the problem resides in the git repository.
