If destination is empty, automatically return to current page

I currently create my own menu with aliased URLs to the themes I use. For example:

Menu item: Blue
Location: theme/blue

However, this will result in returning to the homepage with the theme applied. I could use menu tokens via a custom module and have it be theme/blue?destination=current/page but this will not result in a clean looking URL.

So would it be possible to change the behaviour to return to the current page, if destination is not filled in?
