Right now the documentation for the module is pretty out of date re: which version of the Stripe PHP library to get. There's an initiative underway to make this module depend on the basic Stripe project, but regardless of whether that happens or not, we should ensure we work up to the latest version and that all new Connect functionality works with all prior tested versions.
This issue should be considered resolved only when the documentation and status report messages about library versions are all updated. For reference, the latest version of the library is 6.4.2 and the module says it's only tested 3.0.0 - 5.6.0 while the docs say to grab the latest version.
