It seems that installing the iCalcreator library through composer works, but not when your Drupal site is using the Composer Vendor Autoload (composer_autoloader) module. This is because there is a missing autoload.php file in the library which was added in versions 2.23 and 2.24. This missing file breaks drush and your Drupal site and renders them useless unless you remove the library. I understand that this is outside of the scope of what the maintainers of this project can do as the library is managed by a third-party. I have created this issue purely for documentation purposes and to provide a patch users can use with composer to fix the issue. Perhaps when there is support for iCalcreator versions 2.24+, this won't be necessary anymore.
