How about displaying #[comment number] ?

Like D.org does with the issue comments. The number is in the URL. I like having the comment number displayed because when comment list gets large 20, 50, 100+, it's handy to be able to reply to an earlier comment by referencing the number, e.g., "Hey, good tip, #22!"

Just a thought

Thank you for this module, btw! I never considered the issue core has with comment id's.

    The number makes sense if the comments are sequential, but Drupal also allows sites to have replys specifically to a previous comment, breaking the comments out of sequence. In those cases, a number becomes a lot more difficult.
