Perhaps I am missing something, but isn't the patch doing the opposite of what the the author of this request wants?
Nodes can be restricted by implementing the right access to insiders, i.e. members.
I'm feeling pretty dim about this but I can't figure out a way to restrict access to nodes within a group to /only/ members of that group. It seems that by returning a neutral access result in the gnode_node_access hook, the module allows any authenticated user to access any content. I tried removing the global "access content" permission from the authenticated user, but that makes it so that no one (not even members of the group) can access the group content. It seems like to get what I want the gnode_node_access hook would have to forbid access for users that are not members of any group that the content belongs to... am I missing something?
